Dr. Chrysostomos Fafoutis is a Civil Engineer. He was awarded his Engineering Diploma (1994) from the Department of Civil Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Ph.D in Water Demand Management (2008) from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Thessaly. He was an adjunct lecturer for the courses “Stochastic Hydrology” and “Dams and Reservoirs” of pre-graduate studies in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Thessaly (2008-2010) and he participated in the courses “Planning for Hydrohasard Prevention and Management” and “Social Legal and Administrative Measures for Hydrohazard Preparedness and Emergency Management” (2015-2016) for the Greek-French program of postgraduate studies “Management of Hydrometeorological Hazards – Hydrohasards” of University of Thessaly and Université Joseph Fourier (2010-2012) and “Environmental Policy and Water Resources Economy” of postgraduate studies “Applied Mechanics and System Analysis” of the Dept. of Civil Engineering, University of Thessaly (2010-2012). Currently he is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Laboratory of Hydrology and Aquatic Systems Analysis of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Thessaly. He is also head of the Department of Design and Construction of “Municipal Enterprise for Water Supply and Sewage Treatment of the greater Volos Area”. His research interests include: water resources management, water demand management, water cost pricing, modelling of water and sewerage systems and design-supervision of hydraulic projects. He has published several scientific papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings, and he has also participated in several national and European research projects on water cost pricing according to the Water Framework Directive and water resources management. He is reviewer of several scientific journals.

Dr. Angelos Alamanos is a graduate of the Civil Engineering Department of the Polytechnic School of University of Thessaly (2014). From November 2014 until February 2019 elaborated his PhD Thesis in the same Department, entitled “Integrated Decision Support System for sustainable Water Resources Management, through hydro-economic modeling and Multicriteria Analysis”. He has received two scholarships for his PhD from EEA and the Foundation of the Greek State Scholarships. He has participated in 11 scientific articles in refereed journals, 10 scientific articles in conference proceedings and workshops. He has participated/attended in total 29 conferences, workshops, seminars, while he is a reviewer in five international journals. He has also an active contribution in the teaching and research activities of the Laboratory of Hydrology and Aquatic Systems Analysis. His professional experience includes employment at the Ionian Islands Region in the port of Corfu, at technical construction offices, at the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (N.I.BIO), while from September 2019 he is a Postdoctoral Fellow in The Water Institute, University of Waterloo, Canada. His main research interests include: a) Integrated and Sustainable Water Resources Management, b) Environmental valuation – Economic Analysis of natural resources in agriculture and development of hydro-economic models to manage ecosystems and watersheds, c) Socio-economic Assessment and Pricing of water, d) Multicriteria Analysis and Optimization Methods in Water Resources Management, e) Impact of climate change and land uses on aquatic systems, and f) Urban water management.
